Islandeady Community Alert
Islandeady Community Alert
Mission Statement of Group:
The Islandeady Community Alert is a subcommittee of the Community Council and was set up in the Parish in October 1995, to cater for the needs of our Senior Citizens and people who may be isolated and feeling vunerable..
Brief History:
A sub-Committee was formed to visit the elderly in their homes, invite them out to parties and organise a tour for them each year. Each year as we approach the Winter Months, the Garda Liaison Officer visits Islandeady and meets with the people at our Community Alert Meetings and advises them on precautions to be taken over the Winter.
Current Goals and Achievements:
Funding is provided each year by the Department of Social Protection to help purchase sensor lights, phones, pendants and locks for their windows and doors.
