Purpose of Facility/Mission Statement of the School:
To ensure that all pupils are given equal access to a full and varied curriculum, in accordance with the rules and regulations laid down by the Dept. of Education.
To help each pupil reach his/her full potential with the use of all resources available at the time.
Educate all pupils religiously, morally, socially, physically and academically to the best of our ability.
Prepare all pupils for second level education and lay foundations for adulthood with the co-operation of their parents.
Brief History of the School Facility:
The school was built in 1896 with a board grant of £257.19s.8d.   The total building cost was £386.19s.6d, the balance was made up by local contributions.   Despite the school being built in 1896 it was not opened until 1898.   This was as a result of a dispute between the Board of Works and the manager over the quality of the contractors work.   The number of pupils on roll in 1898 was 121.   The daily average was 72.   We had wonderful celebrations to celebrate our centenary in 1996 and published a very interesting book on the history of the school.   The school was renovated many times over the past 111 years but in 2005 a new extension was built providing two new classrooms.   At present there are 42 pupils on roll.
Achievements Associated with Facility:
Winners of National Fire Safety Award.
Winners of Credit Union and Pioneer quizzes and Art Competitions.
Fundraised in many ways:  Card games, Race nights, Sponsored walks, Flag days and Raffles.

The School purchased the field in front of school for the primary use as a playing pitch for the school pupils.
